Things I have learned

I was having margaritas at my favorite Mexican restaurant last night and I couldn't help but eavesdrop on the couple sitting in the booth behind me. The girl was talking about single moms and how they were fuckable but not datable. The guy with her agreed and stated that he would never date a girl with a kid in tow. Sitting there alone I wondered if this is really true. Do single moms have to settle if they want to be with someone? I got to thinking about the millions of single mothers out there... how many are happy? How many just put on a front? How many settle? There is a song by Laura Jensen called "Single Girls" that talks about what they do after a breakup 1. Cut hair off --- check 2. Get girly bedding --- check 3. Pretend that everthing is okay --- check, check My hair is short, I have pink sheets with little red flowers on them, and I don't show my emotions to anyone. But this all makes me feel okay because I am not alone, I have my daughter and my other single moms who I haven't met yet.
